Beech, birch, ash, oak, mahogany, pear, cherry and maple.
A wonderful variety of character is found in different kinds of wood.
By using different parts of the log, even more variations are achieved.
Veneer taken from the wood core gives a lively impression, while veneer sliced from the outer layers of the log give a more even grain pattern.
Some veneers are cut radially (rotary sliced veneer).
This gives a more meandering grain pattern.
Wood has a natural variation in colour and pattern and ages naturally.
The fact that wood is an organic material is part of its charm.
On large areas a certain variation usually looks good, whereas smaller areas may need to have a more homogeneous appearance.
